A single line change to the GCC compiler's branch-misprediction scale delivers roughly a 12% speedup on the SPEC CPU 2017 NAB test for modern AMD and Intel CPUs. Intel software engineer Lili Cui made the adjustment. The change is scheduled to arrive in GCC 17, expected in 2027.
