TypeScript Costs 31% More Tokens Than JavaScript

A controlled comparison of 22 web technologies measured LLM token costs across 5 languages. TypeScript uses 31% more tokens than JavaScript for identical algorithmic tasks. CoffeeScript, Civet, and ZeroLang were also tested. The tokenizer used was tiktoken (cl100k_base).
