Korbin Brown migrated from OneDrive to a self-hosted Nextcloud setup on TrueNAS but found key features impossible to replicate. OneDrive's Files On-Demand and deep Office 365 integration were missing. The experiment showed that Microsoft solved hard problems with its cloud storage ecosystem that self-hosted alternatives cannot easily match.
