China-linked actor Storm-0940 used an agentic AI tool called ARTEX to automate a supply chain attack on ConnectWise Cloud Backup. The group targeted over 2,250 Microsoft 365 tenants, achieving privileged cloud access in under three hours. ConnectWise suspended its services on Oct. 22 while investigators work to restore operations and secure customer data.
