A research team at Chalmers University in Sweden, collaborating with Volvo Cars, tests a machine learning approach to coordinate autonomous electric taxis. Using Bayesian Neural Networks trained on San Francisco and Chicago data, the system predicts demand and charging needs to reduce costs by up to 60 per cent.
