Apple canceled a vastly more powerful Mac Pro

Apple planned a Mac Pro with twice the processing cores and graphics cores of the Ultra chip, but canceled it due to cost and demand concerns. The Mac Studio's power and lower cost made the Mac Pro redundant, leading to its discontinuation in March 2026. An Intel-based Mac Pro model, codenamed J170, was also planned.
