Robots face a smart, fast, free trilemma

A robot cannot simultaneously be smart, fast, and free due to physics and power budgets. Frontier-scale reasoning requires cloud compute, which sacrifices offline autonomy. Shrinking the model for offline use loses frontier-level intelligence. The embodied trilemma makes the edge/cloud decision the hardest architecture choice in robotics.
