AWS: 90% of Amazon AI Agent Prototypes Failed

AWS vice president Swami Sivasubramanian said almost 90% of AI agent prototypes Amazon teams built two years ago never reached production. Speaking Wednesday at HumanX in Amsterdam, he cited analyst figures that 17% of organizations have deployed agents and only 7% can measure ROI. Amazon's answer was Kiro Crew, an open-source project that drew close to 39,000 internal builders within 30 days.
