Goncourt Drops Novel Over AI Claims

France's Académie Goncourt removed Thélyson Orélien's novel C'était ça ou mourir from its first selection on Friday, citing plagiarism and analyses showing AI likely wrote most of it. Orélien, 38, denies using AI and calls the allegation racially motivated. The book has sold about 35,000 copies and translation rights in over 20 countries.
