Apple launches a limited version of Apple Intelligence in China via an iOS 27.3 update in December 2024. The rollout excludes the new Siri AI assistant, image-generation tools, and advanced text generation features due to local regulations requiring partnerships with Alibaba Group and Baidu Inc. The backend uses Alibaba AI models Tongyi Wanxiang and Qwen, excluding Gemini Foundation Models.
