Apple Expands HomeKit for Smart Home Push

Apple is developing broader smart-home ecosystem software and plans to expand HomeKit with support for new categories of connected products, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The company is also working with third-party manufacturers on devices for its Siri AI-powered smart home platform. New Apple TV, HomePod mini, and a smart home hub are set to be introduced on Tuesday, October 13.
