Microsoft Patches Surface Firmware Bricking Flaw

Microsoft quietly patched a Surface firmware flaw that allowed devices to be bricked with a single packet. The bug was inadvertently discovered by Microsoft Copilot, which generated a Python script that overwrote the embedded controller firmware. Microsoft does not consider the issue a practical threat.
