The Union Cabinet approved Semicon 2.0 with a ₹1.28 Lakh Cr outlay to boost India's semiconductor ecosystem. The scheme targets six areas: chip design, equipment and materials, fabs, ATMP/OSAT units, R&D, and talent development. India's first semiconductor fab is expected to commission in 2028.
