Google Launches AI Pilot Paying Publishers for Content

Google has rolled out an early-stage AI Contribution Pilot that pays publishers when their content significantly shapes AI responses in Gemini, AI Overviews, and AI Mode. The programme, approached to dozens of publishers, provides an earnings widget in Search Console but does not disclose its payment calculation method.
