Northwestern University scientists developed a nanoparticle-based compound that, mixed into clothing dyes, could limit the impact of chemicals found in pesticides, insecticides and nerve agents. Manufacturers could add the nanoparticles to farmers' masks and gloves or soldiers' uniforms and tactical gear, offering protection to those most at risk of exposure.
