Walden Robotics emerged from stealth with $300 million in seed funding co-led by Toyota and Deviation Capital, valuing the Cambridge startup at $1.1 billion. Its wheeled humanoids already work eight-hour shifts inside a Toyota plant in North America, loading parts and cleaning machinery. The company was founded in 2026 by veterans from Toyota Research Institute, MIT, Stanford and Amazon.
