California Bans AI in Firing Decisions

California Governor Gavin Newsom signed SB 947, the No Robo Bosses Act, last week. This law takes effect July 1, 2027, banning employers from using AI as a primary tool for firing staff. All California employers must disclose AI use and provide human reviewers for termination decisions, excluding gig workers from these specific protections.
