The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) bricked roughly 4,000 SamKnows SK-WB8 routers from its Measuring Broadband Australia program. Disposed routers pose a security risk if not factory reset. Flashing alternative firmware like OpenWRT remains an option the ACCC has ignored.
