Microsoft confirmed its optional Windows 11 KB5120998 update reverts mouse cursor personalization settings, replacing high-DPI cursors with larger white ones and disabling custom animations. Users cannot restore previous settings, and uninstalling the update is the only confirmed fix. The update also reportedly wipes desktop wallpapers to black.
