Active Edge, a hardware squeeze feature on Pixel phones starting with the Pixel 2, allowed users to silence alarms and launch the Assistant without looking. Google dropped the feature with the Pixel 4a in 2020. A 2025 reader poll found Active Edge is the retired Pixel feature people miss most.
