Meta built MetaRoCE, an RDMA transport for Ethernet at million-GPU scale, moving intelligence to the NIC and treating the fabric as lossy. It maintains ~86% throughput at 1% packet loss, outperforming RoCEv2 in tests on AMD Pensando NICs. The spec goes to OCP.
