Toyota recalls 21,000 EVs in USA over ECU fault

Toyota is recalling 20,991 battery-electric vehicles in the USA from the 2026 model year, including the Toyota bZ, Lexus RZ, and Subaru Solterra. A faulty electronic control unit can cause loss of driving power. Dealers will update the software free of charge, but no over-the-air update is possible.
