F-35 Parts Diverted to Hong Kong

Chinese authorities are reportedly in possession of F-35 stealth fighter components after a UPS shipment containing a cockpit canopy and weapons bay door from Australia to the U.S. was diverted to Hong Kong in late May. The parts, coated with radar-absorbing material, were being sent by UPS when they went missing, prompting an investigation involving Australian and U.S. officials and Lockheed Martin. Concerns have risen over potential technology transfer to China, especially following a recent $24 billion F-35 sale to Saudi Arabia approved by the U.S. government.
