UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham appointed Kanishka Narayan as cabinet-level minister for AI, dissolving the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. Narayan now works across the Cabinet Office and a merged Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade. The UK follows France and Canada in creating a senior AI ministerial role.
