On July 25, 1996, AT&T made Internet Explorer 3 the default browser for its WorldNet service, giving Microsoft a foothold against dominant Netscape Navigator. The deal bundled WorldNet software with Windows 95 and helped Internet Explorer's corporate usage triple by January 1997.
