A user moved from Notion to AFFiNE, a free, open-source, local-first workspace that runs on their own machine. AFFiNE works fully offline, exports clean Markdown, and includes a built-in Notion importer. Self-hosting enables multi-device syncing via Docker. Mobile and public sharing remain weaker than Notion.
