Bitcoin lags in yen as yen surges

A sharp yen rise has bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies underperforming in yen terms versus dollar pairs. BTC/JPY on BitFlyer gained 0.68% versus 1.15% for BTC/USD. Japan's June producer price index hit 7.1%, fueling Bank of Japan rate hike expectations. The government wants the GPIF pension fund to shift more of its ¥277 trillion into domestic assets.
