VMware expands memory tiering to dodge high DRAM costs

VMware plans a two-to-three-year roadmap for its memory tiering technology, which moves cold DRAM pages to NVMe drives to cut costs. The VCF 9.2 release, expected around May 2027, will support more VM types, including Microsoft's Radius and monster VMs.
