Spotify Enforces Family Plan Location Checks

Spotify requires Family plan members to scan dynamic QR codes in person to verify household location. Users have seven days to complete the scan or face demotion to the Free tier and a 12-month ban on joining shared Family or Duo plans. Competitors are also intensifying household-based checks.
