Google Wins Spirit Airlines Data Auction for $10M

Google acquired failed airline Spirit's deidentified data for $10 million, including 100 million emails, 30 million recorded calls, and 500 million Microsoft Teams items. The underbidder was Mercor, a company supplying AI training data. Google said it bought the data to improve AI services.
