Microsoft touts cost-saving AI model for cybersecurity

Microsoft announced MAI-Cyber-1-Flash, its first AI model for finding code vulnerabilities. Paired with OpenAI's GPT-5.4, it outperforms Anthropic's Mythos 5 and Google's 3.5 Flash Cyber on the CyberGym benchmark at half the cost. The model powers Project Perception, available in public preview starting August 3.
