Toyota to build Lexus EV SUV in Shanghai by 2027

Toyota will produce a Lexus electric SUV at a wholly owned Shanghai plant from fall 2027, starting at 1,000 units monthly. Annual output rises to tens of thousands from 2028. The vehicle uses Gigacast die-casting, marking Toyota's first latest-generation EV production outside Japan.
