UK Uncrewed Sub Fires Torpedo in First

Britain's XV Excalibur, a 12-meter experimental uncrewed submarine, test-fired a heavyweight torpedo, the first such launch from an underwater drone by the US or UK. The AUKUS trial used a US-Australia jointly developed weapon. The vessel navigated autonomously but relied on external targeting data. The test informs future Royal Navy UUVs for North Atlantic patrols.
