Researchers at Seoul National University and the University of Seoul developed a programmable photonic integrated circuit that can slow and control light. The chip uses coupled-resonator-induced transparency with adjustable loop couplers to dynamically delay optical signals. This reconfigurable design could improve data center and AI server efficiency by replacing fixed optical components.
