Samsung develops Gaia AI accelerator chip for PCs

Samsung's System LSI division is developing a dedicated AI accelerator chip for PCs, codenamed Gaia, using a 4nm process with an optimized NPU architecture. Early samples have been supplied to Lenovo and HP for testing, with mass production potentially beginning in 2027. The chip targets PC edge AI and physical AI markets.
