The US Solicitor General filed an amicus brief backing Apple's argument that civil contempt requires a clear violation, not just violating the spirit of an injunction. The Supreme Court will hear the Apple v. Epic case in October. Other groups including the Chamber of Commerce also support Apple. The case could overturn the contempt finding over Apple's 27% commission on external purchases.
