Trump to Finalize Fuel Economy Rollback Monday

The Department of Transportation will finalize a rule on Monday cutting the 2031 fuel economy target from 50.4 mpg to 34.5 mpg. NHTSA says this raises fuel costs by $185 billion and carbon emissions by 5 percent. Most of the 68,294 public comments opposed the plan.
