Apple on Monday backported fixes for a high-severity security flaw tracked as CVE-2026-86950 to older devices including iOS 18.7.11 and iPadOS 18.7.11. The patch addresses an out-of-bounds write in CoreGraphics that could allow arbitrary code execution when processing malicious files. This update expands protection for iPhones XS through XR and various iPads beyond the initial release in iOS 26.7.1.
