The 2026 Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to Francis Halzen on Tuesday for his contributions to the IceCube Neutrino Observatory. The prize money is 12 million Swedish kronor, about $1.2 million. Halzen served as principal investigator for the Antarctic telescope that detected high-energy neutrinos from astrophysical sources.
