AWS launches $1Bn AI Deployment Unit

AWS announced a $1 billion investment in a Forward Deployed Engineering organization. The unit will embed teams of five to six engineers at customer sites for 45-day projects to deploy AI. First customers include the National Basketball Association. AWS competes with similar teams at OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Cloud, and Palantir.
