Changan and CATL to launch sodium-ion cars in 2026

Changan Automobile is partnering with CATL to deploy sodium-ion battery passenger vehicles within 2026. CATL's sodium-ion cells offer 175 Wh/kg energy density, enabling over 400 km range for pure EVs and potential upgrades to 600 km. CATL also plans 3,000 battery swap stations across 140 cities.
