New app lets anyone operate a robot from their phone

COBALT enables users to remotely operate robot arms via smartphone motion. The app mirrors phone movements over secure Wi-Fi to a server and allows users to trigger grasp and release actions with buttons. Users from Indonesia, India, and Pakistan operated robot arms in Georgia Tech's PAIR Lab during studies. Data from novice operators supports policy training for robotic tasks through crowdsourced operations.
