Airtel buys stake in Africa unit for Rs 28k cr

Bharti Airtel boosted its stake in Airtel Africa to about 79 percent through a Rs 28,200 crore share-swap deal with promoter group entity ICIL. The cashless exchange increases Airtel's economic interest in the African subsidiary, which the company expects to become a USD 10 billion revenue entity.
