India Investigates Samsung, LG Over OLED TV Tariffs

India has launched an investigation into Samsung and LG for allegedly underpaying import tariffs on OLED TV parts used to assemble high-end TVs locally. Officials say the companies claimed a 5% concessional rate meant for older LCD and LED panels instead of the 15% tariff. Both companies dispute this, arguing OLED is an advanced form of LED technology. Penalties could reach 100% of evaded duty.
