Robot Hand Walks on Fingers

ETH Zurich researchers built an autonomous robotic hand that walks on its fingers, inspired by Thing from The Addams Family. Weighing 818 grams, it uses 20 actuator joints and reinforcement learning to navigate 14 surfaces, press keys, push objects, and recover from falls. The team hopes it can serve as a mobile manipulator for larger robots in confined spaces.
