Microsoft warned that recent memory-management changes in Windows Server 2025 cause crashes in apps using Address Windowing Extensions (AWE), including SQL Server with Lock Pages in Memory (LPIM) enabled. A temporary workaround disables LPIM; a permanent fix arrives in a future Windows update.
