JadePuffer AI Attacks Wipe Azure Resources

Microsoft observed two JadePuffer attacks in June that used compromised Azure service principals to map cloud resources, steal storage keys, and delete over 100 storage accounts along with Key Vaults, Function Apps, and Virtual Machines. The destructive phase lasted seven minutes; Azure resource locks spared some accounts. Microsoft tracks the actor as Storm-3168 and could not confirm how initial access occurred.
