Constant pressure could double battery lifespan

A University of Cambridge team found that keeping lithium-ion batteries under constant physical pressure of around 12.5 bar can double their lifespan. The research, published in Nature Energy, used pneumatic bellows to maintain optimal pressure. A patent has been filed by Cambridge Enterprise.
