SoftBank Nokia Target 2027 AI-RAN Trial

Nokia and SoftBank agreed to conduct a commercial AI-RAN field trial in Japan in 2027. The trial will utilize Nvidia Grace CPUs, RTX PRO 4500 GPUs, and ConnectX-8 networking cards to run AI and radio workloads on shared infrastructure. SoftBank CTO Ryuji Wakikawa stated this marks a significant milestone in moving AI-RAN from concept toward commercialization.
