Linux 7.3 will fix VRAM overcommit deadlocks on older AMD GPUs, a problem Windows never addressed. Developer Natalie Vock modified the kernel to use the wound-abort-retry mechanism and added smart eviction strategies, preventing crashes when VRAM overflows.
